Specialist Bursary

Specialist Bursary Program

At the Peace Collaborative Services (PCS), we have created a bursary program to assist individuals in attaining their master’s degrees in education rehabilitation services. Specalists within PCS become part of our regional collaborative service delivery system coordinating support for six Northwest Alberta school jurisdictions.

The Specalist Bursary Program is prioritized for individuals in the second and last years of their respective master's degree program at an accredited university.

Qualifying master's degrees include:

  • MSc Physical Therapy
  • MSc Occupational Therapy
  • MSc Speech-Language Therapy
  • MA/MSc Psychology
  • MEd Educator Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • MEd Educator Blind and Visually Impaired

PCS will grant up to $3000 annually to cover costs directly associated with the program with the following conditions:

  • Master's degree program completed as a full-time student
  • Successful applicants must sign a one-year Return of Service Agreement with PCS

PCS Specialist Bursary Qualifications

To qualify for the Bursary, Interested Applicants Must:

  • Undergo a pre-screening interview (offered based on a review of the application)

2. Be enrolled as a full time student in a qualifying degree program listed above

2025 Bursary Application

Applications for the 2025 Bursary Program are due March 15, 2025.

PCS Commitments

PCS will:

  • Contact only those considered for an interview.
  • Pay the sum of $3000 as an award for the student to continue in the course of studies, upon approval of the student’s bursary application, and upon receipt of confirmation of the student’s registration into the course of studies.
  • Provide a position within the PCS team as per the terms and conditions of the Return to Service Agreement.
