The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) is intended to strike a balance between the public's right to know and the individual's right to privacy, as these rights relate to information held by the Grande Prairie Public School Division. The Act ensures individuals have the right to access their own personal information and includes strict standards that the Division must follow for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. The FOIP Act also requires all public bodies in the Province of Alberta to be open and accountable to the general public. Much of our Division information is readily provided through our website.
