Coordinated Service Delivery is an approach to ensure that children, youth and families have access to supports they need to be successful at school and in the community. It is a partnership among school authorities to promote recruitment and retention of specialized staff. It also allows for efficiencies in service delivery across the Northwest.
These jurisdiction partners work together on a regional basis to meet the identified needs of children and youth.
The approach of the multi-disciplinary team is intended to better meet the needs of:
- children or youth with identified challenges which affect their success in an educational setting
- child and youth who are registered with Alberta Education in Early Childhood Services (ECS) to Grade 12 in one of the 6 participating jurisdictions
- children and youth (from birth to age 20) with a low incidence disability including:
- Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI)
- Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Deafblind (DB)
- Complex Communication Needs (CNN)
- school staff, families and service providers who need cross-sector training or skill development in relation to collaboratively supporting children and youth in school and the community.
