GPPSD Employees Push for Mental Health Awareness

Grande Prairie Public School Division employees took on The Push-Up Challenge, completing an incredible 134,501 push-ups from February 11 to February 28 and raising $1,910 for the Canadian Mental Health Association – Grande Prairie Branch.

With 122 employees across 18 teams, our GPPSD Employee Community ranked 3rd in Alberta for the most push-ups completed at the end of February. As of March 4, we currently stand in 7th place, but the impact of our efforts goes far beyond the leaderboard.

What is The Push-Up Challenge?

The Push-Up Challenge is a nationwide fitness event dedicated to raising awareness for mental health. Each day, participants complete a set number of push-ups linked to an important mental health fact. The challenge totals 2,000 push-ups, representing the 2,000 lives lost to suicide worldwide each day.

A huge thank you to all the employees who participated, donated, and helped promote mental health awareness. Your dedication to pushing for better mental health is truly inspiring!
